Mrs. Fanny Easton, wife of Ed J. Easton, liveryman of this place, died at St. Joseph's hospital in Sioux City, last night after an operation. Besides her husband, she leaves three children, her daughter being a teacher. Mrs. Easton was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ream, pioneer residents of this county and had resided her whole life here. She being a teacher for a number of years.

Died last Saturday evening at the St. Joseph hospital in Sioux City. Even those who knew of her serious condition and the nature of the surgical operations she underwent were not prepared for her death.
She had been ailing for more than a year and taken seriously ill for eight weeks with a complication of diseases. She has taken to the hospital on Thursday and operated on for three distinct maladies and with her weakened condition could not rally from the shock.
Fannie J. Ream, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ream was born what was the village of old Omadi, Dakota country, Nebr., February 21, 1858. Lived in Homer and Dakota City and was a member of the first class to graduate from high school. She taught school and married Mr. J. E. Easton on the 5th days of June 1881. Three children – one daughter, Mary A., and two sons, Maxwell H and Archibald E. all surviving. All her life spent in Dakota country with a large circle of friends.
Survived by five brothers – Marcellus M., Charles H., John H., Leone L. and Wm R. Ream; two sisters – Mrs. Mary R. McBeath and Mrs. E. J. Smith; a stepmother, Mrs. A. J. Ream; a stepbrother, Frank M. Hirsch, and a stepsister, Miss Lue A. Hirsch.
Mrs. Easton was converted and joined the Methodist Episcopal church in the early eighties and was a faithful member.
