Adalberto "Beto" Laurel, a native of Rio Grande City Texas and resident of Merced CA for over 50 years, went on to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ February 6, 2016, he was 90. Beto grew up working on the family ranch and later at steel mills in Illinois, the railroad and Keller Industries. He enjoyed family gatherings, church bible study and singing hymns. He was a longtime member of Spanish Assembly of God Church. Adalberto was preceded in death by his brothers Jesus and Ismael Laurel and beloved grandson, Juventino Arroyo Laurel. He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Maria del Socorro Leal, son Juan (Manuela) Laurel, daughter Elisabeth (Brent) Wise, and four grandchildren, Juan Jr, Guillermo, Alejandro and Nelida. The family thanks all the staff at Franciscan Health Care for their kindness and love for Beto during his stay there. We will miss you papa.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 4-8pm at Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home in Merced. Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at St. Luke's Anglican Church located at 350 Yosemite Ave in Merced with burial to follow at Winton District Cemetery in Winton.
