Obituary of Herbert Shulz

Herbert F. Schulz, 74, W. 4490 Pope Road, Merrill, died Sunday, April 6, 1997, at the Wausau Hospital Center.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He owned and operated Club Modern, Merrill and also Merrill Quality Food. In 1980 he managed the Lake Metonga Resort and Copper Country, Canyon.

Survivors include his wife, Julie Schulz and two sons, David Schulz, Kaiserslauerton, Germany, and Tom (Deborah) Schulz, Merrill; three sisters, Stella Bonke, and Esther (Robert) Gruling, all of Merrill, and Gladys (Edward) Aschbrenner, Sterling, Ill.

A memorial service for the immediate family was held at St. Stephens Church, Merrill, on Tuesday, April 8.

Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorials may be given to St. Stephens Church, Merrill.

Herbert married on 3 May 1947 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Julia Rose Moor. Julia was the sister of "Tina" (Moor) Schulz who was married to Herbert's brother, Roy.

"I looked up Herbert and it appears he was cremated but I don't show his ashes were buried."
