Roy was born in the Town of Scott on June 22, 1925 to the late Fred and Louise Kienbaum Schulz. He married Albertina "Tena" Moor in Merrill on April 22, 1947.
Roy established Schulz's Blacksmith Shop in Merrill's Sixth Ward in 1954. In 1960 he moved his business to Heldt St and renamed it Schulz's Wrecking and Towing Service. He remained an integral part of the business even after his retirement in 1990. Roy enjoyed his family and friends, the outdoors, and his land in Newood.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill.
Survivors include two sons, Steve (Margy) Schulz and Dan (Jane) Schulz, both of Merrill; a brother Herbert (Julia) Schulz; three sisters, Stella Bonke, Gladys (Edward) Ashenbrenner, and Esther (Robert) Gruling; along with four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers, one sister and a grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning, April 18, 1995 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. The Rev. Kenneth Albers officiated. Burial took place at the Snow Hill Cemetery, Town of Scott.
