Spencer was one of six sons of Clark Mealer Crosswhite and Ida Bell Huffman Crosswhite. He had lived in the Una community prior to moving to Amory.He had worked for the Machine Products Company Inc. at Prairie Ms. Later he worked as a Civil Service Employee at Columbus Air Force Base. At one time he was married to the beautiful Rita Thrasher of Aberdeen,Ms.After their divorce he married Louise Ritter in 1954.He was a member of the Hatley MissionaryBaptist Church.He was a Shriner,a member of the American Legion,VFW,and the DAV.Funeral services were held at the E.E.Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Rev. Thom Stapelton and Rev.Sidney McCloud officiating.He was survived by his wife,one son and three daughters,three sisters,nine grand children and twelve great grand children.He was preceded in death by his parents,one son and five brothers.
