Eileen McHugh Brostoski, 83, formerly of Moscow, passed away Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at Little Flower Manor, South Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre.

Born Feb. 27, 1932, in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late James and Helen Heffers McHugh. She was a graduate of the former Kingston High School.

Eileen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from College Misericordia, Dallas. She taught in public schools in Levittown. Moving to Bedminster, N.J., she taught in the Belvidere and Basking Ridge school districts, and in St. Vincent's Catholic School, Stirling, N.J. She later was employed as a first-grade teacher by the former St. Brigid's School in Peapack, N.J. Upon her retirement, she and her husband resided in Moscow.

Eileen was a former member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Moscow, was active in church activities and belonged to the church's quilting club. Eileen was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish, Kingston.

Her husband, Bernard M., died March 28, 2006. Also preceding her in death were a sister, Sally Connolly, and brothers, Neil and James McHugh.

Surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The funeral for Eileen will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from Hugh P. Boyle & Son Funeral Home Inc., 416 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Church, North Maple Avenue, Kingston.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.

Friends and relatives may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
