Born Pelagia Przydryga; the family used the simpler surname of Miller.

Mrs. Pauline M. Hmiel, 59, of 409 Mathews Street, Saturday 30 January 1954. Mrs. Hmiel was a communicant of Saint Cecilia’s Church.

Survived by husband, John Hmiel; sons, Carl and Thomas Hmiel, both of Elmira; daughters, Miss Violet Hmiel at home, Mrs. Josephine Redder of Erin; brothers, Felix T. and Francis Miller, both of Elmira Heights, Matthew Miller of Horseheads; sisters, Mrs. Sophia Straley, Mrs. Dora Valego, and Mrs. Agnes Berlin, all of Elmira Heights, Mrs. Nellie Guznick of Elmira; several grandchildren.

The body was removed Sunday from the James D. Barrett Funeral Home to the family home where friends are invited to call and where prayer service will be held Wednesday at 815AM, followed by Requiem High Mass at 9 in Saint Cecilia’s Church. Saint Peter and Paul’s Cemetery.
