Marcia Churchill Arthur, born February 2, 1953, won the final victory over cancer on February 23, 2016, as she stepped into the arms of her Savior. She fought a lifelong battle with diabetes, which took her sight at the age of 23.

Despite this and many other challenges, her indomitable spirit inspired many throughout her life, as she refused to sit quietly on the sidelines and let life pass her by. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Florida with high honors, after going totally blind. Though she had no children of her own, she touched the lives of literally hundreds of young people and their families in her work as a children's counselor for the Florida Division of Blind Services. Her years of faithful service in church choirs encouraged and uplifted many as she sang with her face and heart as well as her voice.

Devoted friend, prayer warrior, loving wife... she will leave a huge gap in many lives, but adds a new attraction to heaven. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Brett and brother, Reid Churchill of Tallahassee, Florida. There will be a worship service in celebration of her life at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church on Sunday, February 28, at 7 p.m.
