Herman Ables, Age 71, of Piermont, NY, died on November 24, 2000. Survived by his beloved companion Patricia Hardy Ables; three sons, Gerald, James and Donald of Piermont, NY; one daughter Linda Sue Clark and son-in-law Buddy Clark, of Northvale, NJ; two brothers, Bobby Ables and James Ables; five sisters, Stella Jarnigan, Edna Higfield, Lois Wallace, Madgalene Lard and Peggy Leatherman, all of Alabama; three granddaughters, Stephanie, Amanda and Le-Ann Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

He is retired from the Federal Paper Board of Piermont, NY and also retired from Aerco International of Northvale, NJ. He was a member of the John M. Perry Post American Legion of Sparkill, NY and also the New York State Commercial Fishermen's Association.

Reposing at the Stevenson Funeral Home, Piermont Avenue, Piermont, NY. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9PM. Funeral services Monday morning 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial Rockland County Veteran's Cemetery immediately following the services. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Piermont Fire Department and the American Cancer Society.
