Heather Lynn McCauley, age 57, passed away on November. 20, 2015 in Dallas, TX after a battle with lung cancer.

Born in Buffalo, NY to Douglas and Anne Bishop, she moved to the Tampa Bay area during her teenage years before going to college and veterinary school at Salem College and the University of Florida. While doing a surgery residency in Louisiana, she fell in love with, and married, Steve Elliott McCauley, Sr. in 1985. They moved to Tarpon Springs where they raised their only son, Steve McCauley, Jr., and practiced veterinary medicine together for 30 years. In 2012, they sold their practice and moved to Dallas, TX where she concentrated on writing short stories and tending her rose garden.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her devoted husband, Steve; her son, Steve, Jr.; her sisters, Peggy Taylor and Karen Berg, and extended family.

There will be a memorial service at 4 PM on February 27th at Church of the Suncoast in Odessa, FL.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Heather's memory to the American Cancer Society.
