Bishop, Douglas Allen, born October 3, 1916 in Braddock PA, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2010. He worked for Airco for 35 years before moving to Florida in 1972, where he started Bishop's Welding Supply. After his retirement in 1985, he devoted all his time to his avocations: enjoying his grandchildren, feeding the wild turkeys and keeping the pasture on his farm precisely mowed to fairway standards. He and his faithful orange Kubota tractor were a daily fixture in the East Lake area until well into his 92nd year. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Anne Orr Bishop, his brother Edsel Bishop and his sister Mary Jane Capp. He will also be deeply missed by his three daughters and their husbands: Margaret Taylor (David), Karen Berg (Bill), and Heather McCauley (Steve); his grandchildren Douglas Haeberle (Jan), Nicole Carter (Rob), Kristen Rogers (Mitchell), Bill Berg III (Mandy), and Steve McCauley Jr., as well as his great-grandchildren Zachary and Chad Haeberle; Bailey, Mackenzie and Jack Carter; and Alexandra, Zoe and Cole Rogers. He was preceded in death by his brother Bates Bishop, sister Elma Weaver and grandson Eric Haeberle. He was a 67 year Master Mason of Western Star Lodge in Buffalo NY, and a member of the Egypt Shrine in Tampa for over 30 years. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on April 3 at Lakeview Community Church, 475 East Lake Rd N, Tarpon Springs, followed by burial at Hillcrest Cemetery in Hamburg, NY.
