US ARMY - WORLD WAR II

Adolph Garcia, 91, of White Oak, formerly of Elizabeth Township, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016, in Jefferson Hospital. He was a retired steelworker with U.S. Steel, Homestead, and an Army veteran of World War II and Bronze Star recipient. He was a founding member of Central Volunteer Fire Department and member of White Oak Gun Club and White Oak American Legion. Born May 8, 1924, in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Thomas and Adela Garcia. Adolph is survived by his daughter, Joyce (Tony) Alvarez, of Belle Vernon; son, Ron (Robin) Garcia, of Ocala, Fla.; four grandchildren, Brad (Donna) Garcia, of Cranberry Township, Angela (Phil Fairchild) Garcia, of Watkinsville, Ga., Anthony Alvarez, of Belle Vernon, and Stephanie Alvarez, of Phoenix, Ariz.; three great-grandchildren, Alex and Zachary Garcia and Cayden Fairchild; sisters, Isabel Suarez, of Elizabeth Township, and Mary Richards, of Largo, Fla.; also, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, in the PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 221 N. Second Ave., Elizabeth, PA 15037, 412-384-4344. A funeral service will take place at noon Friday, March 4, 2016, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Jude Urso officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
