John went to various schools, learned his trade in house painting, married, and raised his children all in the Paradise area. John spent the last fifteen years living with his partner Kathleen and his dogs. His hobbies included fishing, flying RC airplanes, and riding his Harley. John was best known for his elaborate storytelling, generosity, humor, and deep love for his family and friends. His love for life was unwavering and profound. His passion towards the connections he made with others was the source of all his strength and power. John's diverse talents as well as interests allowed for him to connect with people in ways that were compassionate and steadfast. John Patrick Parsons passed away Monday, July 29, 2013 at home among family in Paradise. John was born March 17, 1956 to Reba and Ralph Parsons in Lockport NY. John went to various schools, learned his trade in house painting, married, and raised his children all in the Paradise area. John spent the last fifteen years living with his partner Kathleen and his dogs. His hobbies included: fishing, flying RC airplanes, and riding his Harley. John was best known for his elaborate storytelling, generosity, humor, and deep love for his family and friends. His love for life was unwavering and profound. His passion towards the connections he made with others was the source of all his strength and power. John's diverse talents as well as interests allowed for him to connect with people in ways that were compassionate and steadfast. This allowed him to be surrounded by many who cared for him. John is preceded by his father, Ralph, mother, Reba, brother, Timothy, and many friends. John is survived by his two sisters, Patricia and Lynn of Chico, brother, Mark of Concow, and his three daughters, Jennifer and Jessie of Magalia and Janelle of Chico. In addition, he is survived by six grandchildren. Upon the request of John, a celebration of life will be held Sat, Aug 17 at the De Sabla Lake Picnic Area in Magalia.
