Born September 15, 1916, in New Oxford, she was the daughter of the late John and Alphonize Huffnagel Hockensmith.
Mrs. Becker was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Oxford, where she was a member of the Marian Oxfordites. She was an avid bingo player.
Helen never drove and was very appreciative of her neighbors who took her everywhere she needed to go after the death of her husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Becker Sr., who departed this life March 10, 1957, and is survived by 14 children, Donald R. Becker, Mary E. Shadle and Susan L. Harner, all of Littlestown, JoAnn M. Markle of Hollywood, MD, John T. Becker of Arthmus, Ronald E. Becker of Hampton, Barbara J. Albano of York, Dorothy A. Jones of Glenville, Marie A. Hitt of Pikesville, MD, Loretta A. Young of Hanover, Louis A. Becker and Larry J. Becker, both of East Berlin, and Paul J. Becker and Merle L. Becker, both of New Oxford; 37 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Sell of Silver Run, MD.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jane Becker; one son, Charles H. Becker Jr.; four grandsons; and one great granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Oxford, with Father Daniel P. O'Brien and Msgr Lawrence Overbaugh as Celebrants. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
