Barbara Sommers, age 68, of Menomonie, WI, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016, at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie.
She was born June 19, 1947, in Brooklyn, NY, to Harold and Frieda (Ebert) Peller.
Barbara worked as an Assistant HMO Administrator and later in life she was a Tai Chi instructor. On Aug. 6, 1994, Barbara married David Sommers in Menomonie.
She was a gentle loving soul with a rich spiritual life.
Barbara is survived by her husband, David; a brother, Paul Peller; a sister, Lorraine (David Williams) Peller; and a niece, Jordana Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Frieda Peller.
A Celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Rev. Sandra McKinney officiating. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie later in spring. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Saturday.
