ALFRED SCOTT'S BODY BROUGHT TO MOMENCE SATURDAY FOR BURIAL
The body of Alfred Scott of Momence, who passed away in St. Margaret's Hospital in Hammond, Ind., last Friday, Sept. 14, was brought to Canaday funeral home in this city Saturday morning, where it remained until the funeral hour, when services were held from the Canaday Chapel on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. E.F. Muir, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating, followed by interment in the Momence cemetery.
Music was furnished by Mrs. J.H. Burson.
The pallbearers were Lloyd Scott, William Anderson, Jessie Wilson, Jack Prairie, William Kessler and Luther Teagarden.
Alfred Scott was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus B. Scott, and was born in Lake Village, Ind., Oct. 20, 1877, and was fifty-seven years of age.
He is survived by his stepmother, Mrs. Cora Merrill of Hammond, Ind., a sister, Mrs. Joseph Purkey of Momence, two half-brothers, Lloyd and Walter Scott, and one half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Teagarden of Hammond, Ind.
Out of town relative and friends who attended the services were Mrs. Cora Merrill, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Teagarden and daughters, Esther, Inez and Fay, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Scott, Mrs. Will Mott, Mrs. Abernathy and John Franklin of Hammond, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Trump, Henry Stoner, Mr. and Mrs. George Benham of Lake Village, Ind., Alfred Purkey of Forrest, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. William Anderson of Chicago Heights, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wilson of Grant Park.
