DEATHS

Adam F. Gries

Adam F. Gries died suddenly at 7 o'clock this morning at his home in Webster Street. He was aged 69 years.

Mr. Gries was employed at the C.H. Masland and Sons plant for the past twelve years. He was a member of the Order of Owls and the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Cumberland Fire Company.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Emma Baker Giles; two daughters, Mrs. Frank Bear, Carlisle, and Mrs. Kenneth Graham, Philadelphia; two sons, John and Maynard, both of Carlisle; nine grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Ella Chronister, Carlisle

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the home. Rev. Dr. Ira S. Ernst, pastor of Grace United Brethren Church, will officiate. Friends may call from 7 until 9 o'clock Monday night at the home.

GRIES FUNERAL

Funeral services for Adam F. Gries, who died Saturday at his Webster Street residence, were held there at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Dr. Ira S. Ernest, pastor of Grace United Brethren Church officiating. Burial was in the Kutz Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were George A. Yeager, John Vance, George Blosser and Park McCoy, all fellow members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Oswald Taylor, Leroy O. Spence, James Prescott, Jr., and George Snyder, all former employes (sic) at the C.H. Masland & Sons plant.
