Roseanne M. Alexander was born April 29, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of the late George Moffett and Rose Anna “Newsham” Moffett. Mrs. Alexander graduated from Sudlersville High School and stayed at home for a number of years in her early adulthood to raise her three children. She started working at the Sassafrass boat yard and later worked as a bookkeeper for Gemberling and Starkey Farms for many years. Roseanne enjoyed reading, collecting trains and gadgets, crocheting, playing cards and was a very self reliant woman.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by both husband’s, Charles Henry Marvel and George E. Alexander Sr. as well as one brother, George Robert Moffett.
She is survived by two daughters, C. Martie Marvel Meredith and husband J. Howard of Centreville, MD., Cheryl L. Alexander Bish and husband James of Millington, MD, one son, George E. Alexander Jr. and wife Susan of Riva, MD, two sisters, Patricia Moffett of Centreville, MD, “Maggie” Margaret Mary Moffett Briggs of Trappe, MD, four grandchildren, Amanda L. Snyder and fiancé Greg Jarrell, Christine Snyder Ervin and husband Charlie, George E. Alexander III, William Patrick Alexander, and three great grandchildren, Colton Ervin, Casey Ervin and Abby Jarrell.
A visitation will be held Monday, July 1, 2013 from 5-7pm at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home 370 Cypress St. Millington, MD. A service will follow the visitation.
