Carol R. Wilkings, 77, passed away on March 2, 2016, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.

Carol was born on Oct. 21, 1938, in Wildrose, N.D., to Clarion Boyson and Ruth Berg.

Carol moved to Alaska with her mother 55 years ago, making Chugiak her home. She never wanted to live anywhere else.

Carol loved helping others, and spent her career doing so as a LPN nurse for the Alaska Native Medical Center, Pioneer Home, Alaska Psychiatric Institute, and Cook Inlet Pre Trial. For a short time she also drove the school bus for children in the Chugiak and Eagle River area. She was retired from the State of Alaska.

Carol raised three children and was blessed with three grandchildren. She truly loved her family. She was a very generous person who was deeply loved. She will be missed very much by all who knew her.

Carol is survived by her two sons, Troy Wilkings of Palmer, Alaska and David Wilkings and Connie of Las Vegas, Nev. She is also survived by her daughter, Cheryl Wilkings and Tammy of Lake Stevens, Wash.; her grandchildren, Cheyenne Wilkings and David of Chugiak, Alaska; Dakota Wilkings of Palmer, Alaska; and Makenzie Wilkings of Flagstaff, Aris.; along with her dearest friend, Lee Staudinger and Marvin of Chugiak.

Per her wishes, Carol's ashes will be scattered at a later date by her family members. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks that you make a donation to The Salvation Army. Arrangements are with Janssen's Mat-Su Funeral Home.
