Donald "DJ" Bennett, age 76, a resident of St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, died Sunday, March 13, 2016 at St. Mary's Home. He was born on March 31, 1939 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, son of the late Homer and Ethel (Flaim) Bennett. Don was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1958. After graduation, Don was employed in the Neenah - Menasha area as a clerk for the Soo-Line Railroad. He then moved to the Milwaukee and Chicago area and was employed with Holiday Inn Corp. Don then began employment with Ace Hardware Corp. in Elk Grove Village, Illinois as a manager of the paint department until his retired in 2008 at the age of 70.Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law: Dennis & Anni Bennett, Melbourne, FL., Bernard & Barbara Bennett, Manitowoc; six sisters and brothers-in-law: Sharon (James) Kopidlansky, Pottsboro, TX., Rosie (Fred) Benzinger, Two Rivers, Paulette (Michael) Shallue, Manitowoc, Kathy & Les (Jerry) Graebel, Manitowoc, Mary Jo (John) Wachholz, Manitowoc, Bobbi (Greg) Tuma, Clover; 27 nieces and nephews; 48 great nieces and nephews; and 5 great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers: David and Michael; a brother-in-law: John Felber; two sisters-in-law: Nancy (Bonin) Bennett, Elizabeth (Nelson) Bennett; and a nephew: Christopher Homer Bennett.Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, Newton. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Beaudry. Cremation will occur after the service at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and Donald will be laid to rest at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
