Born in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late U.L. White and Lorine White. Jeannette held degrees in Education at Ohio University and Indiana University. She taught in elementary schools for some twenty five years in Ohio and Indiana. After moving to Hendersonville in 1982, she continued teaching at Balfour Elementary School and the Literacy Council. She was a member of Hendersonville First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Apple; three sons, Robert and his wife Dorothy of Danville, KY, Paul and his wife Svetlana of Ramona, CA, and David and his wife Robin of Hendersonville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Hendersonville First Presbyterian Church.
