KILLED BY TRAIN ENGINE Charles Austin, aged 47 years, a maintenance employee of the New York Central railroad, was fatally injured on duty when struck by an engine which was moving cars of the Gentry Bros, circus near the Crugers bridge last Saturday morning. Mr. Austin was riding on a power-driven velocipede and was evidently unaware of the presence of the engine in the vicinity. The engineer was likewise not expecting anyone on the tracks rounding a curve. When struck, Mr. Austin was hurled about thirty feet. He sustained a fractured skull in addition to other bodily injuries. Mr. Austin who was a trustee of the First Baptist church, was well known in Peekskill. He is survived by a wife, son and daughter. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30, at the Baptist church. Interment was at Cold Spring. THE HIGHLAND DEMOCRAT, PEEKSKILL N.Y., FRIDAY. JUNE 28, 1929.
