He was listed as 91 yoa thus a birth of 1759, born in Virginia. In 1860, John was living with his son, Soloman, in Barbour County, AL. He was listed as 104 years of age thus a birth year of 1756, born in North Carolina, and cited as a Rev. War veteran. Documentation to support Rev. War service not located. His death date is cited as 1868 by most researchers but documentation not available. As with his son, Soloman, most likely he was buried in the "old family church burying grounds" near Howe, Barbour County, Alabama. For that reason he will be given that honor and his death and burial will be recognized.
