The "a christian" in all likelihood is Armster Brown with another unmarked grave next to him. His death certificate information that he was buried in a family cemetery. The unmarked gave next to him appears to be another unknown child or that of his first wife Alice Gentry Brown from Wilkes Co and passed before 1910. Alice is the daughter of Gabriel & Elizabeth Parks Gentry.

There are six unmarked graves in this cemetery and all were interned after the year 1900. They are the family of Armster Brown. The Crouses, Brinegars, and Hoppers families were not slave owners. The Crouse-Brown connection results from a childhood / adult friendship between Elbert Crouse & Armster Brown.

Armster Brown died 7 Dec 1945, exact age unknown. The 1940 census lists his birth as 1875, along with he being a widower. His former wife, Deetta Fugett Brown, ended up in West Virginia by 1935 with children, Grace Brown (Deskins), Lawrence Brown, & Eve Mae Brown (Robinson).

Deetta is the daughter of William Henry & Malinda Moxley Fugett who are interned in the Edwards Afro-American Cemetery in Piney Creek NC.

Although Armster was listed as a widower in 1940, records reference that Deetta, left him and married a second time to John Green Lee in 1935. DeEtta died in 1982 in West Virginia and her internment is at Cunningham Memorial Park, St Albans WV. Daughter, Evan Mae Brown Robinson rests nearby.

Armster & Deeta had four children that passed in infancy. and are interned here.
