Evelyn was the Daughter of Roy Ellsworth Smith and Maude Lee Owen Smith. She was the oldest of eight children.
Grandma's siblings are as follows: Florence Martha Smith Dishman, Harvey Louis Smith, Baby Sister Smith, Roy Ellsworth Smith, Jr., Thelma Louise Smith Shelley, Lawrence Edward Smith, and Barbara Jean Smith Salvati.
During Evelyn's childhood her family traveled from Missouri to California quite a bit, sometimes yearly. She attended many schools during her formative years and was able to Graduate from Chaffey High School, Ontario, San Bernardino County, California in June of 1927.
At one point the family was living in the Fresno area and she met Harlin DeLos Smith. They coresponded and Grandma agreeded to married him on October 24, 1927 in Mariposa, Mariposa County, California.
And the Mother of Harlin, Jr.
