Actor. Born Richard Edwin Bradford, he was a versatile actor who was best known for his role of the CIA agent turned private eye McGill in the 1960s British series "Man in a Suitcase". After a short stint in both football and baseball, he decided to go to New York to pursue a career in acting. He acted in various theatrical productions before being cast by Arthur Penn for his 1966 film "The Case". A year later he was cast for his most famous role in the British television series "Man in a Suitcase". He did extensive work in television for the remainder of the sixties and for most of the seventies with such credits as “Medical Center,” “Marcus Welby MD,” “High Chaparral,” “Kojak,” "B.J. and the Bear", and "Mannix". He also acted in many movies, including “Goin’ South,” “Missing,” “The Escape Artist,” “The Trip to Bountiful,” and “The Untouchables.” He had a recurring role on “Cagney and Lacey” during the 80s and remained active in film and television through the 90s and into the 2000s.
