Jacob was born in Bell Township the son of John R. & Louisa (Weiss) Grube. He married on February 12, 1891 Linda E. Frederick, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Bair) Frederick. He died at home of acute dilation of the heart. Jacob was a farmer and lived all his life in the Grube Settlement. He died near where he was born.
Burial in Carey Cemetery in The Grube Settlement (now Ridgemont Cemetery).
He is survived by his wife and on son and one daughter; Lloyd Grube and Mrs. Scott (Nevada) Snyder both of Punxsutaawney. Four sisters and one brother also survive: Mrs. P.L. Brown, Mrs. Joseph Williams, Mrs. M. r. Brown and Miss Ida Grube and Means Grube.
