Miles came to us a little over three years ago as his former owners were no longer able to care for him. He was very shy at first, hiding under the couch for the first day or so, and then somehow getting into a drawer our the bathroom. He really loved his Greenies treats and loved to sit on our laps or on the back of the love seat in the living room so he could watch what was going on. He was purring loudly almost to the end and never complained, even though he'd gone through two foot surgeries and an amputation. His original name was Niles, but we changed that to Miles (in honor of Miles Vorkosigan, a favorite science fiction character).
