Mrs. Mary Trawick Reed, 74, died Thursday, March 31, 2016, in Athens, Georgia after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, April 4, at 3 o'clock. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Mark Hudgins will officiate. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5 until 7 o'clock and suggest that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity.
Mrs. Reed was born in Macon, Georgia to the late William Aaron and Lena Paige Johnson Trawick. She retired from Heart of Georgia Cardiology as their insurance clerk, but was most well known as a Kindergarten teacher for a great many years at Cross Keys Baptist Church. Mrs. Reed was a longtime member of Cross Keys Baptist Church and most recently attended Ingleside Baptist church, where she was a member of the W.O.W. Sunday School Class. She was a graduate of Miller High School and belonged to Beta Sigma Phi Sorority's Laureate Delta Chapter.
Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband, William Reed, a son, Shawn Akins, and 2 infant children.
Surviving Mrs. Reed are her daughter, Tina (Mike) Wallis; brothers, William Trawick, Oliver Trawick, Tommy (Wanda) Trawick, Randy (Debbie) Trawick; grandchildren, Heather Wallis, Shawn Leighton Akins, Jr., Michael Akins; several nieces and nephews.
