Cecil Frank Blauer, 82-year-old Burley resident, passed away peacefully, at Pomerelle Place on Thursday, March 31, 2016.

Cecil was born December 21, 1933, and lived in the View area all his life. He was the son of Henry William and Lucile Woodbury Blauer. He received his education in View and Burley and graduated from Burley High School.

Cecil married his sweetheart, Stella Muriel (Merle) Cole, the daughter of Loyal Honri and Stella Matilda Noble Cole, July 15, 1953, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in the View area where Cecil successfully farmed for all his life. He enjoyed everything about the farm including building much of the equipment that he used in his farming operation. He loved working with his hands and could figure out nearly any problem. This good couple had a family of four sons and one daughter. Cecil believed in working hard and dealing fairly with all whom he associated with.

Cecil served on the Board of Directors for the Burley Irrigation District for 24 years and enjoyed the service he was able to give. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in many capacities including a counselor in the bishopric, Explorer Advisor, High Priest Group Leader and many other callings. This good man loved home teaching and took that calling very seriously. He and Merle were able to serve as temple workers in the Logan LDS Temple. He was a disciple of Jesus Christ and loved the Lord.

Cecil is survived by his wife, Merle (Burley); his daughter-in-law, Kathryn Kidd (Lynn) Blauer; Katherine Kay Blauer; Michael Ray (Shauna) Blauer; 11 grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren; two brothers, Harold (Phyllis) Blauer, and Lorin (Jeri) Blauer; one sister, Bonnie (Kenneth) Hansen; and one sister-in-law, Geaneen Blauer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Cecil Lynn Blauer, Bruce D. Blauer and Curtis Theron Blauer; a daughter-in-law, Leslie (Michael) Blauer; two brothers, Willes Blauer; and Clyde Blauer; and a sister-in-law, Norene (Willis) Blauer.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, at the View LDS Church, 554 S. 490 E., of Burley, with Bishop Art Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in the View Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, April 8, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. preceding the service at the church.

The family would like to thank Cecil's doctors and the administrators, caregivers and residents at Pomerelle Place for the love, help and kindness they have given to dad through these last months. Our love and appreciation is with each of you!
