Thomas Dixon Sr., 75, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at his residence. Born June 1, 1940, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Robert Dixon and Fern (Rutherford)Dixon. Thomas is survived by his son, Thomas Dixon Jr.; daughter, Melissa Dixon; sons, Jason Smith, Chris Smith and Steve Smith; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings; Dolly Jacobs of Shelbyville; Edmond Dixon of New Mexico; Blanche Gibson and husband, Greg, of Indianapolis; sister, Pauline Jacobs and husband, Roy, of Shelbyville; Barbara Steele of Fountaintown; Dolphus Dixon and wife, Sherry, of Ellettsville; and Marcia Geiling and husband, Joe, of Shelbyville. Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by his parents; children, Susan ///murray, David Dixon and Christine Knight; and siblings, Shirley Smith Laverne Jacobs, Roscoe Davis and Bea Graham. Mr. Dixon loved being outside and doing outside activities. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, with Lt.Steven Delacy officiating.
