Nadine (Bell) Harrold Dickey was born in Terlton, OK, on January 25, 1928. She was born to William Burton Bell and Nellie Pauline (Wheatley) Bell. She married Kenneth Burnett Harrold of Edmond, OK, and they were blessed with four children, 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Nadine “Mrs. Dickey” was a celebrated life-long educator, who taught for over 30 years in the Millwood and Mid-Del Districts. In addition, she helped coach competitive gymnastics (Gyros), and a variety of Sooner-Rose Elementary sports teams. She loved to write and direct school and church plays, regularly helped with Vacation Bible School, and was instrumental in developing a youth puppet ministry team.
She was an avid reader concerning a wide range of subjects, especially History, Science, and Biblical Studies. She also loved to travel with family, and loved all outdoor activities. She was active in several women’s groups and in retired teacher associations.
After retirement, she continued to tutor underprivileged children, as well as older adults and children with learning disabilities. In addition, she worked in the church food pantry for many years….She truly loved the Lord Jesus, His children, His creation and consistently reached out to the “stranger” with His love.
She is survived by her children, Virgil Lynn Harrold and his wife, Kathleen; Kenneth Lee Harrold; Rhonda Jane (Harrold) Hymel and her husband, Jimmie; and Thomas Alan Harrold; her beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Pauline Kennedy of Weleetka, OK; her nieces Theo Crawley and Sharon Young; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Burton Bell.
She will be deeply missed.
She was a gift to and a treasure of our family.
God Bless You “Ma”.
You were a mother to many.
