A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market St., York. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery in York. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Damms was born Aug. 13, 1908, in Jacobus. She was the daughter of the late Albert S. and Ida (Steigler) Ness.
She was a farmer in Seven Valleys and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in York.
Mrs. Damms is survived by a son, Paul A. Damms of Manchester; two daughters, Charlotte Brunson of LaFayette, Ind., and Patricia Helfrich of Manchester; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Ness of Thomasville; a sister, Alverta Hetrick of York; a half brother, Perry Ness of Jacobus; and two stepbrothers, Ray Jackson of Dallastown and Clyde Jackson of Jacobus. Mrs. Damms was preceded in death by two sons, Augustus J. Damms III and Charles W. Damms; and a daughter, Marie Detter.
