Ruth M. Steibel, 96, a resident of Western Village Nursing Home, Green Bay, died Sunday morning July 18, 1999.
Ruth was born Dec. 15, 1902 in Neenah to William G. and Cora Lee (Fitchmiller) Stacker. On June 14, 1927 she married Orville Steibel in Neenah. The couple resided in Neenah until 1948 at which time they moved to Kiel were th4ey were proprietors of the Gambels Store and later Steibel’s Ladies Apparel Store.

Mr. Steibel preceded her in death in May of 1972. In 1978 she came to Sheboygan to reside, before moving to Green Bay in 1996. Ruth was a member of Blessed Hope Baptist church, Sheboygan. Ruth enjoyed traveling, church activities, composing poems, and the companionship of her family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Coralie E. Hildebrandt of Green Bay, with whom she made her home for a time and Jeanne E. (Ronald) Schneider of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a brother, William Stacker of Appleton; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be held at Ballhorn Funeral Chapel, Pastor Herman F. Hass of Blessed Hope Baptist church will officiate. Burial will take p[lace in Oak Hill cemetery in Neenah.
