Cynthia Rowley Taylor, 85, wife of the late James Taylor and a resident of Bloxom, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox. Mrs. Taylor was born on May 24, 1921, in Nassawadox. She was a former employee of R & G Shirt Corporation and a homemaker. She is survived by two daughters, Linda Mae Rivera and husband Carmelo "JosÈ" Rivera and Patsy Lou Corbin and husband William Corbin Jr.; a sister, Mary Jane Boone of Bloxom; a brother, Franklin Annis of Nelsonia; grandchildren, Cynthia and James Scott; and several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a two sisters, Marie Annis and Nonie Bell Rowley; and a brother, Henry Thomas Rowley. Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph A. Shoop and Pastor Freddie Ward officiating. Interment was in the Taylor Family Cemetery in Guilford. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Eastern Virginia, 240 Business Road, Suite 100, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Arrangements by the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home.
