Marion was born in 1880 in Hopkins, Mo. and died of kidney and heart disease in San Jose, California in 1956, buried at San Jose. He came to South Dakota when he was five years old. In 1901 he married Elizabeth (Lizzie) Hazelton ( George Roth's Cousin) Marion and Lizzie first lived in lead, where he drove an ice wagon, then moved to pedro where he ran a freight wagon between Pedro and Pierre. Later he went into ranching at Pedro, where his brothers John and George were alsoranching. In 1912 John and George sold out and moved to Canada. Marion moved his familt to Bend, S.D. about the same time. marion and Elizabeth's children were: Loma 1906, Hazel 1908, Paul 1910, and two babies who are buried at Elk Vale Cemetary. The kids went to Prairie View School for a while. they lived on the Whitlock place near Jim Harrington and Jasper Roth, also on the Johnnie Kammerer place. Marion and Lizzie moved to California in 1938.
