FITZGERALD, Ralph Louis - 69, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2010 surrounded by his family in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born May 1, 1941 in Little River Harbour, he was a son of the late Ralph and Cedulie (Harris) Fitzgerald. Louis worked as a cook at Wagner's and Purity Lunch, having also been a kitchen worker at Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac and Yarmouth Regional Hospital, and most recently as a live bait harvester. He enjoyed bingo, country music and lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Surviving are brothers, James (Marion), Arcadia; Joseph (Mary), Comeau's Hill; Burton (Ida), Arcadia; Clarence (Marion), Yarmouth; Paul (Joan), Arthur, both of Little River Harbour; Carl, Yarmouth; David (Vicky), Abram's River; Bernie (Merna), New Hampshire; Cecil, Melbourne; sisters, Catherine (Carroll) Saulnier, Pinkney's Point; Lillian MacAskill, Sackville, NS; Barbara (Richard) Muise, Lower Sackville, NS; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Fitzgerald, Melbourne; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Willard, Arthur, Lloyd and Delmar; a brother-in-law, Earl MacAskill. Visitation took place from 7-9 Thursday; 2-4 and 7-9 Friday, with prayers at 8:30 p.m., Friday, both in H. M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth. The funeral mass was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 5 from St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, Comeau's Hill, Father John MacPherson officiated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery. It was requested that there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
