Rome New York — Robert L Baldwin, 70, of 140 W. Linden St., a metallurgist at the Rome Strip Steel co., died yesterday in his home.

He was born in Litchfield, Conn. He was graduated from Yale University in 1917 and lived in Bridgeport, Conn. before coming here eight years ago. His first wife, Dorothy Simmons, died in 1936. He married Anne e. Devlin in 1938 in Philadelphia, Pa. she died in 1963.

Mr. Baldwin was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Teugega Country Club. During World War I he was a captain with with the 103rd Field Artillery.

He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Henry H. Harvey Jr., Framingham, Mass; two sons, Robert W., deer Park, L.I, and the Rev. Charles A. Baldwin, chaplain at Brown University; three sisters, the Misses Katherine, Margaret and Dorothy Baldwin, all of Litchfield, and a brother, George H. Baldwin, Bridgeport.

Burial will be in East Cemetery, Litchfield.
