Husband of Lilly Conner, A patriot & soldier of the Revolutionary War. Born in Ireland, died in Mecklenburg Co., where he lived for the past 60 years.

Per the book Sketches of Western NC (page 86 item 4; James Conner [husband of Lillis (Lillie) Wilson] immigrated from Ireland at the age of about 21. He volunteered his services at the commencement of the Revolutionary War. He fought through until the close. He died at the age of 84 years April 1835 and is buried in the Baker's Graveyard. He left 2 children Henry Workman Conner and Margaret Jack Conner. H. Workman Conner lived most of his life (50 years) in Charleston, SC and died in 1861, he was a very worthy & influential citizen. Margaret Conner married J. Franklin Brevard the son of Capt. Alexander Brevard of Lincoln County, NC. She died Oct 25, 1866, at the age of 86. Their only child married Robert I. McDowell Esq of Mecklenburg Co, NC.
