The funeral of John H. Affleck took place at 3:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his late residence, 523 Dallas street, Rev. J. L. Patton of St. Mark's Episcopal church officiating. The pall bearers were: G. J. Gray, W. F. Ezell, A. M. Fisher, F. Reed, J.A. Daugherty and F. J. Finck. The interment was made in city cemetery No. 1.
Mr. Affleck was a well known real estate man. He was 57 years of age and had been failing in health for several months as the result of a stroke of apoplexy that he suffered. He was formerly in the live stock business as Uvalde and was known among the stockmen all o ver west Texas.
Mr. Affleck was a native of Mississippi and was born in the town of Washington, October 5, 1851. His father was Thomas Affleck. Upon coming to Texas, about 35 years ago, Mr. Affleck made his home at Brenham and later moved to Uvalde, where he engaged in the live stock business. He came to San Antonio about 15 years ago and was well known here.
Surviving him are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. M. W. Taylor, Mrs. E. E. Dunning and Miss Deaconess Frances Affleck, one son, Thomas Affleck, and a brother, I. D. Affleck.
