Marjorie W. Alden, age 86, of Warsaw formerly of Perry, died on Tuesday April 22, 2014 at the Wyoming County Nursing Facility in Warsaw where she had been residing. She was born in Hume, New York on April 21, 1928 a daughter of the late Claude (Laura Miller) Webster. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Alden who died in 1995 and a brother Beverly Webster.
Marjorie worked for M & T Bank in Perry for many years before her retirement. She was active in the Perry Alumni Association, and Order of the Eastern Star in Perry. She enjoyed doing number puzzles, crocheting, embroidery, traveling, and visiting with family and friends. She was known for her chocolate chip cookies.
She is survived by siblings: Leah Thater of LeRoy, Arlene Culbertson of Lima, Merle (Sharon) Webster of Perry and Graydon (Judy) Webster of Perry, a sister-in-law: Lolly Webster of Southern Pines, NC., along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday April 24th, 2014 from 2 to 4:30 PM at Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. Perry, New York 14530, where funeral services will follow at 4:30PM. She will be laid to rest in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Perry.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cloister Activities Program 171 N. Maple St. Warsaw, New York 14569, Wyoming County Nursing Facility Activities Program 400 N. Main St. Warsaw, New York or to the First Congregational Church 7205 Rt. 20A Perry, New York 14530.
