On March 28, 1999 at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in her 102nd year. Beloved sister of Alice MacDonald of Scotland, and the late Katherine Alexander of Winnipeg, Anne and Peter MacDonald of Scotland; Aunt of Letty Taylor and family of Winnipeg; dear friend of the late Marjorie Murdoch. Born in Fochabers, Scotland, Letty Smith was a Veteran of World War I and served in the Royal Flying Corps in Scotland and France. During World War II she was secretary to the British Admiralty in Toronto, working on the Corvette program. Always an avid flower lover (as long as they were pink), Letty was a Life Member of the Oakville Horticultural Society, a volunteer for many years at the Oakville Historical Society, and a member of the Royal Botanical Gardens, Burlington. Arrangements by Ward Funeral Home, Oakville (905) 844-3221. Private service at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto.
