Nancy Felton Humm, age 88, of Frederick, passed away early Saturday, May 21st at Somerford Assisted Living where she had been a resident for the past six months. Nancy was born on June 15, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Holden and Mary Felton.
She was a homemaker and the wife of the late Richard Humm and mother to four children.
She is survived by daughters, Linda Markey, Jeanne Beckmann, Suellen Humm, all of Frederick, and her son, William Humm of Richmond, VA. Jeanne's husband, Jerry, was like a second son to her. She has four grandchildren, Jeffrey Boyd and wife Miyuki of Japan, Christen Beckmann and husband Danny Robbins of Harpers Ferry, WV, Laura Beckmann of Frederick, Julie Zamostny of Hagerstown, and Jessica Winter of Jefferson. She also leaves behind two great grandchildren, Makayla Beckmann of Frederick and Jacob Winter of Jefferson. She also has a sister, Janet Hoke, of Frederick, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her two sisters.
She was a member of Glade United Church of Christ in Walkersville.
Per her request there will be no visitation or viewing. The family will receive friends at 10, one hour prior to the service, at the Stauffer Funeral Home on Opossumtown Pike on Wednesday, May 25 at 11 with Pastor Curran of Glade United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be private at Glade Cemetery, Walkersville.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Somerford for being so good to their Mother during her short stay with them, and for being so kind to them during her final days.
