William Alfred Hendricks of Rifle passed away Dec. 19. He was 77.
William was born Nov. 20, 1931 to Lewis and Norma Hendricks. Before serving in the Korean War, he married Cordillia Collins. They had four children.
For several years, he worked as manager of the Foster Lumber Co., both in Glenwood Springs and Rifle, until its closing. He then went to work as a maintenance engineer for the Best Western Antlers in Glenwood Springs until his retirement.
He was proficient in several avenues - fly fishing, wood working and practical jokes. As true for being a father, friend and brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Raymond and Kenneth; sister, Arlene and son, Everett.
Survivors include sisters, Eva (Riley) Murray, Althea (Lester) Stephens and Velma Shroyer; son, Jack (Virginia) Hendricks; daughters, Janice Carroll and Karen (Mike) Shroyer; 7 grandkids and numerous friends.
A viewing was scheduled for Monday, Dec. 29 from 10-11:30 a.m. at First Christ Church in Rifle. Funeral services followed at 12 p.m. with interment immediately after at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle. Rifle Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
