Gilbert Paxon and Edward Malamphy, each of Draper, met fatality about midnight either late Tuesday night or in the early hour of yesterday morning when they were struck down upon state highway 70 as they walked from Loretta to their home in Draper.

Appearing last Friday before Co. Judge Walter J. Duffy at Hayward, Marvin Andresen of Exeland, admitted to have been the driver of the car which struck down Ed Malamphy and Gilbert Paxon on highway 70 between Loretta and Draper in a fatal accident, submitted a plea of guilty of manslaughter (fourth degree) and drew a suspended sentence of one year. Archie Galien, also of Exeland, and owner of the car, said to have been without lights, and who accompanied Andresen at the time of tragedy, is fighting the case on manslaughter charge, and was scheduled to have a hearing today at Hayward, outcome of which is not known at this writing. No relatives of the deceased Paxon being found, this elderly man was buried in the cemetery near Hayward last Saturday, interment of Ed Malamphy being at Neillsville as previously reported in these columns.
