Mrs. Oscar (Helen) Benzinger, 88, of Manor House, Manitowoc, died early Thursday morning, April 30, 1987 at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday at Lambert Funeral Home and 10:30 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. The Rev. Jeffrey VandenHeuvel will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. Benzinger was born August 10, 1896, in the Town of Two Rivers, daughter of the late Anton and Barbara Bunzow Sturm. She was married to Oscar Benzinger, June 6, 1921 at Holy Cross Church, Mishicot. They farmed in the Town of Mishicot until 1962. Her husband preceded her in death in 1970. Mrs. Benzinger was a member of Holy Innocents Christian Women and Mishicot Altar Society.
Survivors include three sons, the Rev. Oscar L. Benzinger of Milwaukee, Fred of Two Rivers and Frank of Mishicot; five daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Helen) Rosinsky, Mrs. Wilfred (Betty) Olsen and Mrs. Leonard (Barbara) Schiesl all of Manitowoc, Mrs. Dale (Lila) Stenner of Neenah and Mrs. Don (Lillian) Gerrits of Combined Locks; a sister, Mrs. Julia Rehrauer of Mishicot; 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and stillborn twins.
Friends may call at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, 4 pm to 8 pm Friday where a parish service will be 7 pm.
