Jay E. Chasey

Jay E. Chasey, 79, of Nunda died Saturday (Aug. 25, 1962) in a Rochester Hospital.

He was born in West Sparta and had been employed at the Nunda Casket Co. for 35 years.

Survivors are his wife, Bertha; two sons, Howard of Nunda and Kenneth stationed at Minot Air Force Base, S.D.; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Ahl of Warsaw, Mrs. Alta Mix of Rochester and Mrs. Lucille Gelser of Dalton; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. G. L. Thomas of Nunda; and four brothers, Lloyd of Nunda, Arthur and Roy both of Castile and Leon of Addison.

A funeral service will be conducted in the Duryea Funeral Home today at 2 p.m.

Burial will be in Hunt’s Hollow Cemetery.

ROY D. CHASEY

CASTILE — Roy D. Chasey, 79, of Main Street, died Tuesday (Nov. 25,1969) in the U. S. Veterans Hospital at Batavia after a long illness.

Mr. Chasey operated his own garage here from 1930 until he retired in 1965. He served on the village board for 14 years. He was a Navy veteran and a 50-year member of Wallace Jeffers American Legion Post. Mr. Chasey was a member of the Oakland Lodge 379, F&AM and a member of the United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Guest Chasey, a son, Dean of Castile, three daughters, Mrs. William Ludwig of Fredonia, Mrs. Harold Johnson of Webster and Mrs. Kenneth Hall of Castile, a sister, Mrs. Alta Toms of Geneseo, three brothers, Arthur of Castile, Leon of Painted Post and Lloyd of Nunda.

A funeral service will be held at the Harmon Funeral Home today at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery, Castile.

Friends may contribute to their favorite charity in Mr. Chasey's memory.
