Mrs. Emil Cherney, 81, of 1208 N. 11th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday at
home after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home and at 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev.
Earl Brouchoud of Two Rivers will officiate and burial will be in Holy
Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.
Mrs. Cherney, the former Julia Brouchoud, was born Dec. 23, 1885, in Town
of Gibson, daughter of the late Eugene and Mary Courtion Brouchoud. She was
married May 6, 1907, to Mr. Brouchoud(sic). They lived in Oconto County for
a number of years and came to Manitowoc in 1931. She was a charter member
of the Holy Innocents’ Altar Society.
Survivors are the husband; four sons, Vincent and Raymond, of Green Bay;
Richard and Stanley of Manitowoc; four daughters, Mrs. William (Evelyn)
Koepke of Crown Point, Ind., Mrs. Russell (Ruby) Priebe of Wausau, Mrs.
David (Fern) Roseff and Mrs. Ray (Ollie) Jackson of Manitowoc; two brothers,
Peter of Mishicot and Richard of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Pries
of Manitowoc; 24 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Three daughters,
three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday where at 3:30 p.m.
members of the Altar Society and the parish will recite the Rosary.
