Emil Cherney, 90, of Manitowoc, died Monday morning at Manitowoc
Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral
Home and at 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The
Rev. Earl R. Brouchoud, a nephew, will officiate with burial in Holy
Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.
Mr. Cherney, son of the late John and Jenofa Cherney, was born Jan.
25, 1886, in the Town of Kossuth. He married Julia Brouchoud May 6,
1907, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. The couple moved to
Manitowoc in 1929. She preceded him in death June 18, 1966. He was employed at Rahr Malting C., Manitowoc, as a maltster for many years.
Survivors include four sons, Vincent and Ray, of Green Bay and Richard
and Stanley, of Manitowoc; three daughters, Mrs. Ray (Olive) Jackson
and Mrs. Dave (Fern) Roseff, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Ruby Priebe, of
Wausau, 20 grand-children and 37 great-grandchildren. Preceding him
in death were four daughters, two grandsons, three brothers and a
sister.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 o'clock this Tuesday
evening. A memorial service will be at 7 o'clock.
