According to the McClintock Memorial Book by Louise McClintock Shelton 1985 Alexander died when thrown from a horse while traveling to wherever his father had died, probably in 1830. Father probably died in Missouri according to book. "Alex" received a Grand Jury appointment in Knox Co. Tenn on Jan 7, 1811 (Knox County Court Minutes Bk7, pg 187. He was a mathematician and the first surveyor of Hardin Co. Tennessee . (footnote 2 in McClintock Memorial Book page 13)
He married Mary Steele(b. 1790) Mar 2, 1809 in Knox Co.Tenn (bondsman was Frederick Hambright.) Mary is daughter of Ninnian Steele & Rebecca Hardin, who were married June 8, 1782 in Greene County, Tennessee. Rebecca Hardin was daughter of Col.Joseph Hardin and a sister to Jane Goodin b. 1764.
